Curriculum – Safety (Care.com)

DIAPERING:

  1. Assemble necessary supplies
  2. Remove soiled diaper, folding ends over soiled surface
  3. Put soiled diaper in appropriate receptacle
  4. Clean child with disposable wipe, moving front to back
  5. Place new diaper on child
  6. Wash child’s hands with soap and water
  7. Clean changing area
  8. Wash hands with soap and water

NOTE:      NEVER leave a child alone on a changing table.

If a child is “wiggly,” change them on a clean mat on the floor.

If a child has diarrhea, give them crackers and water, adding other foods ONLY if they are hungry, and be sure to WASH YOUR HANDS after helping them.
