Get Pixeled! Cambridgeside offers more pixels than MIT and Kendall Sq. combined!

Cambridge may be known as a hub for technology, but not even the computers at MIT’s Media Lab or even all the tech giants in Kendall Square can stand up to the new event at the Cambridgeside Galleria (at least not in terms of FUN!).

Created (perhaps ironically) by a man named John Carter at a venue that was (again ironically) made vacant by technology, this out-of-this-world experience uses over 9 million pixels and cutting-edge technology to capture the photos, hearts, and minds of visitors of all ages with its multiple rooms of selfie heaven.

Whether you want to get high on Vibe Airways, get down on the sound stage, walk the red carpet, or jump as a polar bear attacks, GPY has all you need to leave the COVID world behind and escape into pure fun and fantasy. And while the rooms are sure to keep your selfie stick busy, most have an option of scanning a personal QR code, having the in-room camera take the best possible photo or movie, and then sending them to your online photo album where you can relive them over and over.

In addition to all the teched-out fun, GPY is also hosting live events, including headphoned concerts from local artists. Speaking of artists, the show includes digital work from Beeple, a $120,000 quarter-ly couch by Vermont’s own Johnny Swing, and chairs made out of bowling balls and boxing gloves (another version of the latter having been purchased by none other than Sugar Ray Leonard) by Carter himself. Despite all this, however, the real art is made by every guest as they run, jump, climb, dance, and rock out in the most pixelated party Cambridge (and hopefully other cities) has ever seen.
