As a new dog owner myself, I am curious as to what my dog does after I close my bedroom door (leaving it a bit open, of course, in case she needs to get me) at night.
In this fun and easy reader (which is made all the more bright and cheery by Segundo Garcia’s illustrations), Adam Mock muses on possible nocturnal lives for his dog Jack.
From breakdancing, and building with blocks to watching the films about which Mock often writes, Jack tries out an imaginative array of alternative lives. In the end, however, he ends up rising with the sun for a morning walk, just like all dogs do (right?).
Whether or not you have a dog or an early reader who likes rhymes and brightly-colored illustrations, Jackis a fun character in a very pleasing book.
